Q: How much do lessons cost?
A: $80 per hour
Q: How long are lessons?
A: One hour.
Q: How frequently should I take lessons?
A: Generally once per week is perfect for motivated students who want to make steady progress. However, we can tailor lesson frequency to your individual needs.
Q: Do you ever offer longer or shorter lessons?
A: For adults and advanced students, a half hour is simply not enough time to accomplish much. A student is usually just getting warmed-up around the half-hour mark. I do offer longer lessons as requested.
Q: Do you teach children?
A: No, the youngest students I will take are college-bound high school students. However, many of my students teach so I can recommend teachers who will be perfect for younger students.
Q: How can I tell if we will be a good “fit” for each other?
A: Before taking lessons with anyone you should have a nice long talk with them to get to know each other and you should take one lesson to see if your are right for each other. You will generally know after one lesson if you “click” or not. If we don't click, no apologies needed! In fact, after having a lesson, I might know just the right person for you.
Q: Where do you teach?
A: I teach from my home studio which is near I-25 and Yale.
Q: What days do you teach?
A: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
Q: Are your cats friendly?
A: Yes! Max will come right up to you the first time you meet him, and Abbey will need to get used to you first. However, they are both gentle and very sweet. If you have cat allergies, we can just close the studio door to keep them out. I can also run a very effective air purifier.
Q: What is your favorite kind of music?
A: When I don't like a certain type of music, it means that I don't know enough about the music. When I look into the history and structure of the music, I can always develop an appreciation. That said, I tend to listen to jazz and classical music the most.
