Sunday September 11, 2011, 7:30 pm

Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church, 1980 Dahlia St, Denver CO  80220

The program will be divided into three sections that mirror the way one deals with tragedy: 1-Tragedy and Grief; 2-Striving for Comfort; 3-Solace and Release.  The choir will be made up  of 32 voices, larger than the usual complement of 24 singers.  Works on the first half are by American composers Eric Whitacre, Terry Schlenker, William Schuman, Edward MacDowell and Edwin Fissinger.  The second half consists entirely of Hubert Parry’s poignant Songs of Farewell.

The concert is being broadcast live on Colorado Public Radio’s classical music service at FM 88.1 in the Denver area, and online at www.cpr.org.
